\"This<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This italicised idiom \u2018kick into the long grass\u2019 <\/em>is an expression that \u2018weighty issue are pushed aside and hidden in the hope that it will be forgotten or ignored\u2019<\/em>. \u00a0The \u2018long grass\u2019 inferred here is a metaphor for a place such as thicket or shrub where it might be difficult to find something.\u00a0 The assumption being that anyone trying would be so frustrated that whatever it is or however important, is easier left there, even \u00a0at the risk of it coming back to bite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The practice of this idiom, according to ESRL is the norm for political and economy tsars in dealing with racism in work place.\u00a0 Given Equality Act 2010, racism at work place is a weighty issue that should not be \u2018kicked into the long grass\u2019<\/em>.\u00a0 From the appended reading, the evidence suggest racism at work place has been cleverly \u2018kicked into the long grass\u2019<\/em>, by political and economy tsars,despite evidence that it bites back.\u00a0 The worry is that \u2018grass\u2019 is not out there but now a thicket or shrub inside work places to hide racism or ward-off anti-racism vigilantes using throw-away\/feel-good promotions or publicity that appear to address racism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESRL says manifest of throw-away\/feel-good action\ncan be seen in the sudden stumble and fall of political and economy tsars when\nthey resign or sacked for racist comments. \nYet replacement tsars are found to continue the growing of thickets and\nshrubs to hide the weighty issues of racism at work place by avoiding making\nracists comments.  Alternately, one who\nis good at keeping out anti-racism vigilantes from finding out the thickets and\nshrubs at work places hiding weighty racism matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESRL observe that on yet other occasions, public\nprotectors in social institutions stand firm and do their uttermost to stop weighty\nissues of racism at work place being kicked into the long grass.  Yet racism long hidden in the thickets and\nshrubs necks its way around all sorts of work places unchallenged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnfortunately the inate culture of ‘bearing well’\nwith weighty issues such as racism at work place leaves the tortured to adopt\nseveral copping modes; such as \u2018I did not know!!\u2019; \u2018I was unaware!!\u2019; \u2018is that\ntrue!!\u2019, etc.  I suppose the assumption\nis that racism has been kicked into the long grass\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe anti-racism vigilantes should be encouraged to\nsee and use the Equality Act 2010 as a significant tool to challenge racism at\nwork place\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
